Terms of Service
Last updated 5 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us for the Blitz app and website. They also serve as the licence for the app itself. They apply to hosts, who create an event in the app, and to guests, who join one from a link. By creating an account, buying an event, or taking a photo as a guest, you agree to them.
01Who we are
Blitz is made by [Bedrijfsnaam B.V.], registered in the Netherlands at [Straatnaam 1, 1234 AB Amsterdam, Nederland], Chamber of Commerce number [KvK-nummer], VAT number [btw-identificatienummer]. In these terms "we" and "us" mean that company.
You can reach us at hello@blitz.camera for anything about these terms or about the app. We answer within five working days.
02What Blitz is
Blitz is a shared camera for an event. As a host you download the iOS app, create an event, and set how many guests can join, how many photos each of them can take, and when the photos are revealed. Your guests join by scanning a code, which opens a camera in their browser. Guests do not need the app and do not need an account.
Blitz is a tool for collecting photos. It is not a photography service, it is not a backup service, and it is not a substitute for keeping your own copies of anything you care about.
03Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Blitz app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. This licence does not sell you the app; we keep all rights we do not expressly give you here.
You may not copy the app except as those Usage Rules allow, rent or sublicense it, or reverse engineer it except where the law says you may despite this clause.
04Your account
To create an event you need an account, and you must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. Keep the details on it accurate, because we use them to reach you about your own events, and keep your sign-in to yourself.
You can delete your account from within the app, under Settings. Deleting it removes your account details and any event that has not yet taken place. Events that have already run are removed on the schedule below, and invoices are kept for as long as tax law requires.
05Your responsibilities as a host
As the host you decide who is invited and what happens to the roll afterwards. That comes with obligations that are yours rather than ours:
- Tell your guests that photos are being collected and who will be able to see them. A line on the invitation and a line on the table card is usually enough.
- Do not use Blitz to collect photos of people who have not been told, or in places where people expect privacy.
- Deal with anything a guest uploads that should not be there. You can remove any photo from your roll.
- Make sure that sharing the roll afterwards is something your guests would expect. A private link to the people who were there is a different thing from posting the roll publicly.
- You are responsible for the code or link to your event. Anyone who has it can join and take photos, up to the guest limit you set.
06Guests and conduct
Guests join from a link and do not create an account. By taking a photo in an event you agree to these terms and to the host being able to see, download and share the photos you take within that event.
Do not upload anything unlawful, anything that shows someone in a way they clearly would not want, or anything involving a child in a way that is not obviously innocent. We remove content like that when we find it or when it is reported, and we can close an event that is being used for it.
07Reporting something that should not be there
If you see something in a Blitz event that should not be there, tell us and we will look at it. That includes content that is unlawful, content that infringes your rights, and a photo of you that you want taken down.
Write to hello@blitz.camera with a link to the event or the photo, what is wrong with it, and how to reach you. If you are reporting an infringement of your own copyright or your own image rights, say which right is yours and confirm that you believe in good faith that the use was not permitted.
We confirm every report, decide as quickly as the case allows, and tell you what we decided and why. If we remove something we tell whoever uploaded it, and they can ask us to look at it again. If we think a report is unfounded we say so rather than quietly doing nothing.
A host can remove any photo from their own roll without involving us at all, and that is usually the fastest route.
08Photos and rights
You keep the rights to the photos you take. Nothing here transfers ownership to us.
By uploading a photo to an event you give the host and the other guests of that event permission to view, download and keep it. You give us permission to store and process it only as far as we need to in order to run the service: storing it, showing it to the people in that event, and delivering it to the host.
We do not use your photos to promote Blitz, we do not sell them, we do not give them to anyone outside your event, and we do not use them to train any model. If we ever want to use a photo in our own marketing we will ask the person who took it first, and a no is a no.
09Buying an event
An event is bought inside the app as an in-app purchase, once, before it starts, based on the number of guests and the shot limit you choose. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
Apple is the seller of that purchase. Payment is taken by Apple through the App Store using the payment method on your Apple Account, and the price you see there includes any tax Apple applies for your country. We never see or store your payment details; we receive only a confirmation that the purchase succeeded.
We set the prices and can change them for future purchases. A change never affects an event you have already bought.
10Refunds and your right to withdraw
Because Apple is the seller, refunds for in-app purchases are handled by Apple and not by us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, and any statutory right you have as a consumer, including a right of withdrawal, applies against Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
If something on our side went wrong, tell us at hello@blitz.camera. We cannot issue the refund ourselves, but we will look into what happened, fix it where we can, and support your request to Apple in writing.
11Availability and changes
We do our best to keep Blitz working, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and things outside our control do occasionally break.
We may add, change or remove features, and we may stop supporting older versions of iOS. If a change materially reduces what you have already paid for, we will tell you and help you get a refund from Apple.
12How long a roll lasts
A roll stays available for [12 months] after the event, unless something different was stated when you created it. We send you a reminder before it is removed so you can download the originals.
You can delete an event and everything in it from the app at any time. A guest can ask us to remove their own photos from an event by writing to hello@blitz.camera.
13When we can suspend or close an account
We can suspend or close an account, or shut down an event, if it is being used for something unlawful, if it breaks these terms in a way that matters, or if a court or a competent authority requires us to.
Unless the law or the seriousness of the case stops us, we tell you first, say why, and give you a chance to put it right. If we close an event you have paid for and the fault was not yours, we will help you get your money back from Apple.
14Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you. As a consumer you keep all your statutory rights.
Beyond that, our liability for any event is limited to the amount paid for it. We are not liable for photos that were never taken, for a guest who did not join, or for anything you have not kept your own copy of.
15If your use of Blitz causes a claim
If someone brings a claim against us because of what you did with Blitz, you cover the reasonable costs and damages that follow from it. That means things like photos you uploaded that were not yours to upload, or an event you ran without telling the people in it.
We will tell you about such a claim promptly, let you take part in the defence, and not settle it without asking you first.
16Terms that apply because Blitz is on the App Store
Apple Inc. requires the following to be part of the agreement for any app distributed through the App Store. They apply to the app, not to the website.
- This agreement is between you and us alone, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Blitz app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support for the app. Any support questions go to us.
- If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
- We, and not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and any claim under consumer protection or similar legislation.
- We, and not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any claim that the app or your use of it infringes someone else's intellectual property rights.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a terrorist supporting country, and that you are not listed on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and on your acceptance of them Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you.
Questions, complaints and claims about the app go to us at hello@blitz.camera or by post at [Straatnaam 1, 1234 AB Amsterdam, Nederland].
17Complaints and applicable law
If something goes wrong, write to hello@blitz.camera and describe it. We respond within five working days and try to resolve complaints within two weeks.
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
18General
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce something straight away, we do not lose the right to enforce it later.
You may not transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We may transfer ours if our business is sold, and doing so will not reduce your rights.
These terms, together with anything we tell you about a specific event, are the whole agreement between us about Blitz, and they replace anything said before.
19Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. If a change matters to events you have already bought we will email you before it takes effect, and the terms you agreed to at the time keep applying to those events.
